Seven Things

Hello lovlies,
I had the intention of starting the week with a different post, a more thoughtful one you can say, but the grey colour of the sky took over me and the autumn winds swept my thoughtful mind into... mmmm.... an empty one. Hardly a week into autumn and I'm already cold and miss the sun. All I can think of is snuggling on the couch with a cozy, warm cardigan, a cup of tea and a good book.
Here are some seven things to make the autumn into a more pleasant one.

... warm comfy cardigan

... and a good happy scarf

... some fine tea!

... and a teapot

... wooly warm blanket

... a nice book

... a cute necklace to make you smile on the grey days...

Happy Tuesday friends!! x

Take me there...

La Maison Champs Elysées
La Maison Champs Elysées
La Maison Champs Elysées

La Maison Champs Elysées in Paris.
A place made of history and fine design.
White spacious suite room.
Piles of books and a cute little desk.
Plush bed.

Or by the hotel's own words:

"A new world of luxury and poetry, a relaxed atmosphere in which minimalism is enhanced by an incredible attention to detail. It is a place that tells a story, the interiors of this remarkable hotel are carefully orchestrated like a playful, provocative theatrical production."

Take me there! I promise I'll even try my hand at a little bit of poetry!

I'm Loving: Big color / Little color

Last week I got a lovely email from Lilian with an intro to her shop boyfren / girlfren on Etsy.
I immediately fell in love with her sweet bags (can't even say which one is my favorite, I just love them all!) but I'm especially smitten with the Big color / Little color tiny coloring book!
I think it makes the most adorable gift for anyone needs a little creativity boost or just a smile, or as a great companion for a long flight...

Such wee bit of a cute notebook!

Curating Colour - 4th Edition

Hello Monday!
Hope all of you lovelies had a fine weekend!

I'll thought I'll go back to the tradition of having a Curating Colour  post on a Monday, it's a good thing, I think, to start the week with a little colour right?

Those impressive abstract paintings of Michelle Armas are so beautifully haunting. To me they look like fractions of my dreams. Bursts of colour that are at the same time wild and harmonious and have so much energy, passion and happiness in them

Find out more about Michelle and her art on her blog and shops: Big Cartel // Etsy

Another set of beautiful abstract work, but in a very different form, is the one coming from k19studio:

k19studio is a German based art studio that started with the idea of creating original art that is accessible to everyone. They had made a dozen of series of original geometric paintings that are executed in the technique of acrylic on canvas or aluminum, in high quality and an affordable price.
I especially love the Semi-Transparency series.

See examples of their artworks here. They look even more stunning hanged on a wall!

Have a wonderful, colourful week friends! Galit x

P.S. Talking about affordable art, if you haven't yet, do go and check out Buy Some Damn Art - an excellent source of original and affordable art by up-and-coming artists, which is the brain child of Kate Singleton of Art Hound.

A moment in...

... February
(à la Adelaine)

February is marching by in a very slow, frustrating phase.
The weather can't decide between summer, autumn or just crazy and the winds bring not the desired change but turbulences.

I'm feeling sleepy and crave newness but can't find the inspiration I need.

I know the blog suffers from lack of updates and the gaps between one post and the next are growing longer and longer. I therefore thought a little post to sum up the very moment is in place.
Bare with me while I'm regaining energy and waking up my creativeness.
And in the meantime, lets focus on the here and now.

Watching
Il y a Longtemps que Je T'aime (I've Loved You So Long)

Listening
Smith and Frank, on repeat, and loving their two songs so much.
Waiting eagerly for more.

Wanting
The moon

Missing
Sleeping under the stars. Like air for breath.
Can't believe how essential camping had became for me.

Everything is Great, Everything is Grand

I'm in a period of time when I'm desperately looking to watch fun, feel-good movies.
Maybe it's the heat, or me being alone while the husband is away. Whatever the reason, I don't have the patience for seriousness at the moment. I only wish for movies to make me smile!

Earlier this week we went to watch The Muppets. It was Mili's request and I'm running out of entertainment ideas (this school holiday is endless!!!) so I said Yes.
I'm an old soul, I always was. I can't bring myself to enjoy most of the new cinema hits and remakes (Smurfs?...) and I'm always a little cautious when it comes to sequels. No wonder I was a little hesitant about The Muppets.

It is rare to find a movie that you can't say one bad word about it. But in this case - it is really easy to sum it up - as in the words of the opening song -
Everything is great! Everything is grand!

How can you revive the magic of such iconic creation as The Muppets?
Apparently with keeping everything simple.
It starts with a simple storyline, goes on with cute characters (both the human and the muppets) and continues with lack of gimmicks and show-off.
I enjoyed so much the wry satirical humour at some parts and the naive tone at others, the sweet relationship of Mary and Gary, the nostalgic air, the songs and dances (probably the highlight of the film and believe me the main song won't get out of your head for weeks!) and the old-time feeling - all are just superb.

I couldn't stop smiling the whole 103 minutes, and almost a week after, I still can't wipe the smile of my face.

Go see this movie while it is still in the cinemas - enjoy the magic to its fullness!
You don't need kids as an excuse - if you, like me, watched The Muppets Show some long years ago when it was on TV, this new Muppets film will not disappoint you! It is true and faithful to the spirit of Jim Henson's muppets and brings back this old charm.
And if you already watched it - let me know what you think!!

Some last things:
- Don't miss Feist's cameo on the opening song!
- Doesn't Kermit voice resembles Woody Allen's? I thought it's awesome!

- This moment when Animal can't resist and start drumming on "Rainbow Connection"
